Lovely old white metal lorgnette in good working order. The glasses spring out when the button is pressed. To close, you simply push the extending lens back and then press the button to secure. (This may take a bit of practice but once you get the knack it works well!) The handle is beautifully engraved with a flower on both sides. The metal section that goes over the bridge of the notes is also engraved with a zig zag pattern. There is a useful loop at the bottom. The metal work is in good condition, with patina commensurate with age.
No notable flaws. I am unsure of the exact age of these, but imagine them to be from the Edwardian period.
Measurements when closed:
6 inches long (excluding loop at the bottom). Lens diameter just under 1 ½ inches.
